We had a great weekend although the weather was bloody awful to say the least. On Saturday, we all went to Whipsnade Zoo. We had to buy rain capes where it was raining constantly but no one seemed to mind much. The highlight for us was when we were making our way to the wolves, the keepers came along with 6 elephants, 3 adults and 3 babies, one of who was a real small baby. Basically apart from a couple of other people, there was just us and the elephants, how cool was that!

The new Cheetah enclosure is really good. They have done it like the lion enclosure where they have a kind of plexi plastic, the kind used in armoured cars, that allows you to get up real close and personal, it is quite an experience. We took a picnic as the food there is really expensive. We did get a hot drink there for each of us, 8 drinks £18! We took the kids on the old steam train too, which was very enjoyable. You get to see parts of the zoo that you can't get to on foot. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day. I would highly recommend Whipsnade as a great day out. When we got home, Linda got the Wii out. It's great fun and made my arms hurt . We are now thinking about getting the twins one for Christmas. The nice thing about it is that it is family orientated.

On the Sunday, it was my birthday and we all went out to dinner which was nice. I got a pair of diamond and garnet earrings from Colin, a beautiful wooden sewing box from his mum and dad, one of those ones that pull out into different sections, a ceramic handbang thats got material and beads and gems over it thats also a money box from my grandsons, a a pair of ceramic elephants from the twins and money from my stepdad. I also have Thursday to look forward to as my daughter is taking me to a Spa for the day. Never been to one either lol. My son Ben also has something planned but I don't know what. Col's parents even brought me a birthday cake lol.

On the Monday, we took the twins to Tring and the natural history museum which is owned by London Zoo. I hate going there, last time I had to walk out. Its a museum full of dead stuffed animals. They were all killed back in victorian times when big game hunting was acceptable. The twins liked it and the museum was packed to the rafters with visitors. I could say gawd knows why ..............probably cos the museum is free entry lol. Afterwards we went back to Lindas for dinner and then travelled the 120 odd miles back down the motorway to home. For once, both the M1 and the M25 was pretty clear, not one delay!

I have enabled Linda big time on the stitching front I am glad to say. She is just finishing up a big Bothy kit of poppies as well as finishing lots of other little bits. I took her shopping up on sewandsos and got her some freebie charts off the web too. She is really addicted to it now hehehe.
