  • Quiet day

Well it's been another quiet day, not much to blog about really. I made a nice dinner of chicken thighs with onions, cherry tomatoes, garlic, mixed herbs, drizzled with olive oil and served it with cous cous with coriander and lemon juice. Very tasty if I do say so myself.

This evening I watched my usual CSI Miami and then watched the newer Hairspray that my daughter lent me to watch. I loved the first version with Rikki Lake and Divine, and this one was good. I thought John Travolta looked really good as a woman lol.

My diet has gone tits up a bit haywire. Basically I can lose weight but I feel very irritable and hungry and crave everything I'm not supposed to eat, which in turn makes me feel very miserable. So right now, sod what I look like and I would rather gain a bit of happiness for now and start earnestly back on the diet in January. I am going to try and steer away from all the junk food, which I'm not a huge fan of anyway and just try and maintain a nice healthy balanced diet. I love cooking and to me it's a pleasure rather than a chore, besides think of all the crap thats in processed food huh. I always feel sluggish and bloated when I eat processed rubbish.
All I need to do now is expand my horizons when it comes to cooking and start trying some new recipes. Just need to find a good cook book but there is so many out there that I wouldn't know which one to buy lol.

Looking forward to Monday as Mamma Mia is released on DVD so needless to say I shall be buying it and will have the greatest of pleasure watching it time and time again and hopefully annoying him indoors with it

I spent this afternoon doing the beading on her. The material is quite heavy now with all those beads on it. I am really enjoying working on this and have made it my main project for now. I also have a nice beaded ornament to make in time for Christmas and will probably start it in the next week. Click on image to bigify it to see all the beads lol.

  • Reg Varney dies

I loved watching On The Buses and have the 3 films of it which I still watch even now.

  • Feeling better.

I feel soooooooo much better today. I made a nice pork casserole and then settled down to watch the X Factor. I think it was a bit of a fix because they always start with Simon on who they are voting out and they started with Louie, missed Danni so it was a foregone conclusion that Daniel was going to be voted off.
But I really enjoyed the 'we are amused' or whatever it was called, the comic thing for Prince Charles 60th birthday. I really really enjoyed Robin Williams, boy that was sooooooo funny. His comic rant about Bush was side splittingly funny!  And the finale with Eric Idle singing  always look on the bright side of life was just classic. Not often is there something on the box worth watching, and I fully enjoyed watching it.
I was going to go and play World of Warcraft seeing I also have the new expansion Wrath of the Lich King, but I think I am too pissed to even contemplate it . I only drink on Saturday nights lol. I got a nice box of wine from Sainsburys............their wine is soooooooo much better than the other supermarkets apart from M&S which is about the same as Sainsburys imho. Ok, I'm going because I am rambling.
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

  • The bloody Feckers

    Photobucket

I am so fecked off that I could cry. My daughter and her partner work bloody hard for what they have and very long hours........sometimes 14 plus hours a day each. They booked a four day holiday to Prague and on their third day, some feckers broke into their house. Luckily they got scared off by the burglar alarm and the damage was to the back door and her white carpet which they trod mud all over. It was only because my other daughter was feeding her rabbits that the intrusion was spotted. And apparently it happened the night before and the bloody neighbours didnt report to the police that the alarm went off.............BTW, the police chewed their heads off over it .

I still am not well. It seems to be one thing after another lol. I caught a stomach bug now and with my ongoing digestive problems, it's causing me havoc. So I am looking foward to the end of the month to getting away for a few days visiting his indoors parents.

  • Celtic Summer update

Been another boring day at home, I feel like I'm going stir crazy. I need to get out more lol. Being Thursday, I stitched on Celtic Summer which is my SAL (stitch a long) on my I Love Cross Stitch Yahoo group that I run. I need to get it finished by the end of January so I can start Circe the Sorceress.......can't see it being finished by then though lol.

  • Thank Gawd

Obama won. If Polar bear killer Palin had got in with McCain, I hate to think what they would have done to the enviroment..........they were definitely money before the enviroment people. Enough said, polotics always cause rows lol. I just hope America voted Obama in for the right reasons and not because of the colour of his skin. Bush bullied too many countries to get his own way..........it's Americas fault for the world recession.............lets hope Obama does the right thing eh?

  • October reads

    Bookworm

I've always been a prolific reader since I was knee high to a grasshopper so what went wrong last month? To my disdain, I only read two books, The Hollow by Nora Roberts and Pyramid by Tom Roberts. Maybe I need to go to bed a bit earlier to get more reading in lol.

  • A wedding and Stonehenge

We left early Friday to go to Lou and Gareth's wedding. The M25 was worse than usual, but plain sailing down the M3!

The wedding went without a hitch and both the bride and groom looked lovely.
We stayed at theirs overnight but decided to go home on the saturday because Ben, my oldest son who came with us, wanted to get back to see his girlfriend. On the way we stopped off at Stonehenge as it was literally arond 5 miles from where we were. I have to be totally honest and say it wasn't as big as what I thought it would be but apparently lots of people think the same when they first see it. Nevertheless, it was very breath taking to see it with ones eyes for real. We didn't pay the entry fee of £6.50 to see it as we didn't have the time to spend there. Besides, we are going to go back in the summer when the weather is better.

We went a different route on the way back and took the M27 and the weather was atrocious.......visability was down to around 150 yards. I took this photo lol. I hate motorways but even more so when the weather is like this. You still get your total arseholes still doing 100 miles plus..........

On the way back after dropping Ben off at Drusillas, we went straight to the hotel we had booked before leaving Lou's. We didnt want to go straight home as my second oldest son and his friend were house sitting and expecting to be there till Sunday. It was a Premier Inn in Eastbourne, my first time in staying in one and I was very impressed considering what we had paid for it....£64.
We had a kingsize bed lol.............now I gotta get me one of them lol. We had a nice dinner and a few alcoholic drinks then went back to our room and watched Hannibal in bed...........hadn't seen it before lol.
We had paid for an eat as much as you like breakfast so we got up at 8am, went and had breakfast then went back to bed for a couple of hours and then vacated the room at the alotted time of 12pm. We drove back to Hastings and had dinner at the Rainbow. So all in all, a very nice weekend.
