  • Oh, Mr Darcy!

Oh, I am trembling at the knees with excitement and anticipation. On Amazon, I found The BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth, at just under £8 instead of £20. I have never seen any version and only read the book this year, but I do know this..............I really like Colin Firth, I really like Pride and Prejudice, a fabulous combination in my books!

(I live just around the corner and luckily on a hill!)

Date: 07 July 2009 By Richard Morris

After weeks of scorching sun the heavens finally opened this morning - flooding parts of Hastings and leaving cars in St Leonards submerged in pools of water. Storms hit 1066 Country at just after 1am this morning and have not let up since. Blackman Avenue was one of a host of roads closed off by the time locals left for work, with fire crews battling to clear water which had flooded at the end near Battle Road. In fact, as our exclusive pictures show, parts of Hollington were left as much as five foot underwater, with cars wrecked, gardens ruined, homes flooded and bins bobbing on the water. Elsewhere, parents were told St Paul's School had been forced to close after it was a struck by lightning, causing the electrics to short circuit. And, students on their way to Filsham Valley School were diverted across the South Saxons Wetlands in order to get to lessons because of severe flooding which left the entire school field under water. Emergency services said they were inundated with calls. Mark O'Brien, of the local fire service, said: "We were called out two hours ago because of flooding in Blackman Avenue and Hollington Old Lane. "We have received a number of calls about flooding across town with properties and road affected. "In Hollington Old Lane there has been severe flooding due to the rainfall last night. A number of residents are staying in their properties and are cut off by flood water. "They are in no immediate danger and are being asked to go to the upper part of their homes where it is safe. "Water has not entered the houses and we are working hard to make sure it does not. "There is forecast to be further rain today." He said nine homes in Hollington Old Lane had been affected and two in Blackman Avenue, adding: "The flood water is running towards Stonehouse Drive where around 20 properties have been affected." He said the area had flooded because a storm drain had not been able to cope with the high level of rainfall, adding: "We have got emergency equipment and teams on standby to rescue residents in case the water level rises."

  • What a load of old poop!

It is obvioulsy some ones shadow. Just another money making ploy. Why can't they just leave him be?

  • Bored

We all wish for more time to ourselves at some point or another. Right now I have so much time to myself that I am bored senseless with it. I will be so glad when I can move around normally without my stomach hurting or feeling like it's dropping out.
I've been online playing hours and hours of World of Warcraft, doing mostly instances lol. Played on Pogo, sent pictures via email from my phone, just because I can , oh and surfing through BCUK lol.  The bit of paper the hospital sent me home with says '4 to 6 weeks recovery'. Help! That means I am going to go around the bend and possibly lose me marbles . I'm going to give it a few days and try to clean the kitchen surfaces with some bleach lol. Oh and I am going to get very adventurous today and bung a chicken in the oven

  • On the road to recovery.

Last Tuesday, I had my gallbladder removed. I'm doing well, just very sore. I'm very bored though as it is so hard just sitting or laying around lol. I was so bored yesterday that I signed up for Club Pogo lol. Also been playing lots of World of Warcraft online lol.
Sod's law that we have been having a heatwave while I've been stuck inside.............mind you, not a bad thing I guess as I dont want to get burnt.
Oh yeah, been Twittering and on Facebook a lot, also learnt how to make the most out of my Nokia E71, including how to upload piccys straight from my mobile to Nokia Ovi and Twitpic etc.................I feel like a darn geek now lol.

  • Pre Op jitters

Woohoo, I'm having my gallbladder operation tomorrow as there has been a cancellation. Just come back from the hospital and had the blood tests etc all done. Feel very nervous but glad at the same time

  • A trip to Kew.

Friday night we went up to Him Indoors parents for the weekend who live in Dunstable. On the Saturday we went to Kew Botanical Gardens. The weather was absolutely fabulous, needless to say I got sunburnt but without beeing too sore. The huge glass houses were unbelievably hot, especially the palm house, in which I kept darting under the spray mists every time they turned it on, just to cool down. I really enjoyed it there as I had never been before.

    048

Him Indoors took this of me by the huge lavender rows they have. I really like this picture but...............................

    053

Not so much this one. Can you see the panic on my face? Thats because I am a few hundred feet in the air on a treetop walkway. I'm not frightened of heights as such but I didnt like this one as you could see everything below under your feet and the thing moved............I had to go around it though as it was one way traffic, boy did I move quick lol. Plus the lift was not working so we had to climb a lot of stairs. I damn near run down them though lol.

All in all we had a lovely weekend!

  • Stressed out

Yesterday I had a good day. Went to fatty club and lost the 1.5 lbs that I had put on last week. I then went into town and did some shopping and had lunch in The Rainbow. I then dyed a friends hair and then Him Indoors took the boys and I out for dinner. I went out at 9.15am and didnt get back in till 9.15 pm, so I was very knackered.

Today, is not so good. I feel like I have too much upon my shoulders. I know moving is a stressful business, but at the moment I am having trouble with coping with everything on my own. I just want to curl up in a little ball somehwere and go to sleep for several days! But I know I can't because all the stress will still be there where everything still needs to be done. Too much has gone wrong lately and I am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!
Im supposed to be going away next weekend, but to be honest, right now I don't think I can face going..........to me, it's just another lot of stress I could do without right now!

  • Why?

Why is it that when I have time to sit at the computer and blog, that I have nothing to blog about!  Seems like sod's law to me because when I have lots to blog about, I don't always have the time to blog it lol
